the references are, as usual, literal but none to specific... the drawstring of a sleeping bag, the nylon rip-stop-esque fabric of a waterproof jacket, tweed jackets fashioned after ski parkas....the nylon rip-stop button down shirts. the collection reads highly technical - and the cuts of the sporty fabrics are flawless. the bustier dresses, which have been a staple for the New York based pair for years, have a refreshing update in a graphic print, that is actually the Google Earth aerial view of the Himalayan Mountains - and the updated shape of the skirt, the fabric seemingly stiff, continues to modernize the look for today's woman.
the black short sleeve dress is, in particular, stunning - the drawstring waist, the bodice of the dress referencing the vent of a tent, the fabric similar to that of a waterproof jacket...and then a slight peplum at the waist...it's a beautiful dress that will read well with the everyday Proenza woman...it's totally wearable for any occasion. another heart-stopper: the navy-blue/black bustier dress with mesh overlay and patent leather skirt... that's the kind of dress i'd throw elbows over at a sample sale. for SURE.
as always, Proenza Schouler is keeping their legions of absolute die-hard fans (this girl included!) wanting more! LIVING for Proenza Schouler...as always!
