another December, another Pre-Fall season is upon us which makes us think - hold the phone... how are we already doing pre-fall of next year when it's not even Christmas of this year? i know - but trust me, this is goood. really good.
Olivier Theyskens showed just his fifth collection with Theory - and he seems to be tapping into the bloodline of his customer. the cool downtown chick who loves ease in her fit but demands a cool grace in the shapes. this pre-fall season is full of embellished leggings with a loose fit, wide legged pants with an easy, loose tshirt, shorts with blazers and chunky boots with a hidden wedge platform, and his soon-becoming-a-signature drop waist denim. oh, and don't forget leather. obviously.
the embellishment and prints add a touch of feminine sweetness to the tough edge that the dark colors and bold shapes convey - and that's just what the Theyskens' Theory girl loves. sweet but tough.
this is my idea of a perfect outfit. simple, with an interesting detail (sheet t-panel), slouchy fit but perfectly flattering. this shirt is an absolute 100% must have for my closet!
beautiful embellished top, fur jacket, trouser shorts. perfect.
a darling printed dress with embellished leggings (still slouchy!) with tough boots for the perfect downtown girl
same sheer t panel as my favorite shirt above but in a maxi dress - obsessedddd.
absolutely stunning - i love the floaty sleeve and the print is so unexpectedly feminine but so easily made edgy with smokey eyeliner & messy hair.
all in all, a very well-edited collection for Theyskens. he is making his mark as one of downtown New York's big names for off-duty model chic. ...and poised to give Wang a run for his money!
oooo i LOVE Pre-Fall!!!
